Singer 237 Sewing Machine

Singer 237 Sewing Machine

Posted 2014-04-17 by Mina Keenanfollow

Got a fantastic neighbour who called out to one of the boys at my place to come get her sewing machine for me. My eyes lit up.

She works at a local thrift shop. I had asked her to keep an eye out for a cheap (old) machine. She said she had kept meaning to take her one into the Thrift shop because it was now so heavy for her to throw about and use. She was after something more lightweight now.

She had bought it second hand 'a long time ago'. I probably wouldn't want it because it was old. (Ha! I'm getting that way myself). She hadn't used it in ages - it used to go, but she wasn't sure if it would now. It was a Singer.

My eyes lit up even bigger than before. I Iove Singer machines - kind of a nostalgic thing since I got older, and offered to pay for it but she wouldn't have it. I got the boys to cut her hedge and tidy up some trees at her place - sweet deal.

It weighs a dang ton. Once home I cleaned it up, oiled it and tested it and adjusted the tension. Beaut!
