Yarn Covered Bottles
Grab some empties and leftover yarn for an easy decor project.
The only 'difficult' part about this is holding the yarn at the right tension as you wind it about the bottle - but it seems 'comes to you' as you go on.

Method

...stating off...
Put some white glue around the neck of the bottle. Wind yarn about a few times. Hold the end of the yarn further down the bottle, so you can cover it up as you continue winding

...keep winding...
Apply a strip of glue down the bottle until you reach the 'body' shaping of the bottle. There is no need to glue all of the bottle on the straight-ish parts

...need more glue here...
Put glue all about at the 'shoulder' of the bottle.

...more winding...
Another strip of glue down the body part of the bottle

...first layer complete...
Put glue around the bottom end of the bottle. Tie with a couple of knots to finish this part off

Finished!
You will see bits of glue as it dries off. Wind another layer of yarn around the bottle. You won't have to be as careful this time as the first layer gives the second something to hang onto. It's okay to wind 'randomly' (I did)

Make a co-ordinating set of Yarn Covered Bottles
Tie off the ends with a couple of knots and trim yarn close to the knots. All done!
Make a few in similar colours to make a set. Put some branches in them and cheer up a space in your home!
Have fun!
