This is Part 3 of 4 on How to Make a Wallpaper Covered Journal

This process takes about five minutes

You've made your journal cover and signatures. Time to make the spine ready to take the pages

Method

Making Sewing Holes

Making sewing holes on the spine of the journal

Take one of your signatures to use as a guide for making corresponding sewing holes on the spine of your journal

Place the signature in the centre of the journal cover, also centering onto the spine.

Make marks on the spine as indicated. The marks will be covered when the signatures are sewn onto the spine

So you have a row of three holes along the center of the spine. That will do for one signature. There are six others.

Holes

Mark three holes on either side of the center holes, then make holes with an awl as shown in the photo

Binding

Time to attach the pages into your journal! Go to Part 4 of 4 on How to Make a Wallpaper Covered Journal - the Binding
