Follow along to crochet a granny square.

Put the needle through chain space
Work 3 chain (to act as first treble)
Work 2 trebles in the same space and a chain to form a group.

See instructions from the beginning.

Hold yarn tails across your work as you crochet to help hide/incorporate them into your work.

Notes:
The chain spaces in your first round are where your corners will be.

To make corners: work two groups into the same space. All the other spaces need only one group worked into them.

Work as many rounds as you wish for your granny square.

See instructions from the beginning.
